Something that I think is of relevance to the contemporary early-career artist is the cost prohibitive nature of making substantial work, especially in the rural periphery.
top of the list: Fuck you Hilo Ben–Franklins, Den of Thieves!!!!! Every week the fine-art supplies become exponentially more expensive, and whoever is in charge there needs to be tried in an inquisitorial tribunal.
And every-time i get to the register and attempt to make cost-efficiency decisions, like choosing to leave behind the $50 dollar tube of Winsor & Newton's Burnt Sienna or the $65 bottle of solvent, the cashier always laughs at me and says that maybe I need both.
